How Does Invisalign Work?

During Invisalign treatment, we'll give you sets of plastic trays called aligners that you'll wear for 20 to 22 hours a day for around two weeks each. Once that time is up, you'll swap out the trays for the next set. Each aligner is specifically designed to adjust your teeth to a certain position. Because it's a gradual, controlled movement, many patients find that the process is gentle and comfortable.

What Are the Benefits of Invisalign?

One of the biggest benefits of Invisalign is hinted at right in their name — it's a nearly-invisible orthodontic treatment. The aligners are made of transparent plastic and are custom-fitted to your teeth. They blend in so well that plenty of people won't even notice that you're straightening your teeth with orthodontics!

Another big difference from traditional dental braces is that Invisalign trays are totally removable. That means you can eat what you want without worrying about food getting stuck in braces, and you can keep your teeth looking pearly white by brushing and flossing like you always have. If you have an important event coming up, you could even pop them out so they don't get in the way of your special day.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

We know that many people want to change their smile but have financial concerns. Our team wants to work with you to make Invisalign as affordable as possible. The cost of Invisalign treatment depends on the length and complexity of your case. We won't be able to give you an accurate estimate until we see what kind of movement will be involved. We invite you to come in for a consultation and to review our flexible payment options, including financing.

Invisalign vs. Braces

Our team understands that there's a lot to consider when you're deciding on a teeth straightening method. It's important to know the differences between braces and Invisalign in order to make an informed decision about your orthodontic care. As always, our knowledgeable team at North Richland Hills Dentistry is available to answer any questions you may have.

Invisalign is recommended for patients with mild to moderate alignment issues. For more complex, severe cases braces may be a necessity. However, we won't know for sure until you visit our office for an exam and consultation.

It's not uncommon for patients to put off straightening their teeth because they don't want to deal with a mouth full of metal. The aligners are made from a clear, plastic material so most people won't even notice you're wearing them. Invisalign offers a clear alternative to traditional metal braces so you can smile confidently throughout the entire straightening process.

Invisalign is more convenient than braces for two main reasons: fewer adjustments and fewer dental visits. With the Invisalign program, we'll send you home with multiple aligner sets at a time and you'll wear each set for about two weeks before switching them out for the next set in the series. You also don't have to worry about brackets falling off or your wires needing to be tightened, the aligners don't need adjustments.

Oral Hygiene

When you're working around brackets and wires it can be difficult to properly clean your teeth. Because of this, you may be more susceptible to developing cavities. A perk of Invisalign is that the aligners are removable, so you can take them out when you eat, brush, and floss. This makes it easier to maintain great oral hygiene and steer clear of tooth decay.
