Dental Bridges

Bridges get their name because they quite literally bridge the gaps in our patients’ smiles. If you’re asking yourself, “What is a dental bridge?” then sit tight, because we have answers for you.

full dentures

A dental bridge is a prosthesis made of false—yet realistic-looking—teeth that fill a big gap in your grin. These bridges can be integrated into your smile in several ways. These include using two crowns on either side of the cap as an anchor for the dental bridge (traditional fixed bridge), using two natural teeth on either side of the gap by bonding metal bands to them using a special resin (resin-bonded bridge), and—lastly—by placing a crown on only one side of the gap (cantilever bridge).

Dental implants could also be utilized for this purpose. How long these dental bridges last is entirely dependent on your oral healthcare routine. Brushing and flossing as normal is recommended to keep you bridge functioning and looking its best. If something is to happen to your bridge, we can possibly restore or—if need be—replace it altogether in our office.

Dental Crowns

full dentures

Crowns can be made from a variety of materials, including ceramic, metal alloys, gold, porcelain, and more. Whether you’re getting traditional porcelain crowns or the metallic alloy ones, you can rest assured that this treatment will restore your smile and get you to feeling better in no time. Otherwise known as dental caps (because they cover or “cap” the fragments of a tooth or even the abutment of a dental implant), crowns can be helpful for those experiencing tooth decay, trauma, or infection.

Dental implants are the preferred method for single-tooth replacement, but they can also be used to cover an existing tooth by removing some of the tooth's surface area so the crown fits perfectly over the tooth. Crowns can also be a cosmetic dentistry treatment if you have a tooth that has cracked or chipped. A dental cap could get your smile back to its former glory in no time.
